Wisconsin Systems, Information, Learning and Optimization
SILO is the seminar for Wisconsin Optimization. SILO aims to build a community of mathematically-minded researchers interested in computational and mathematical sciences. Laura Albert (https://punkrockor.com/) and Stephen J Wright (https://wid.wisc.edu/people/stephen-wright/) are coordinators for this seminar.
Professor Laura is our current Wisconsin ISyE department chair, and she will be the next president of INFORMS 2023. Go Badger!
Professor Stephen was famous for his Numerical Optimization Book. He was also the chair of Computer Science at Wisconsin.
